Membership & Passes
You must be a USA student, faculty/staff, retiree, Alumni Association member, or university affiliate to join the USA Student Recreation Center. Spouses and dependents of the above primary members may also join. Our facility is not open to the public. Memberships are a twelve-month contract. All requested changes to membership require 30 day notice for processing. Members will be contacted via email once the form has been received and processed. For payroll deduction members, change requests received after the payroll deadline will be processed on the next check for Monthly employees and the first paycheck of the next month for Bi-Weekly employees. Membership Definitions & Pricing
Students
Student: Any person that is currently enrolled and paying tuition and fees that classify person as a current student of USA.
Dependent: Anyone who has a parent-child relationship with a current Student Recreation Center member and is age 25 and under.
Spouse: Anyone who is legally married to a current Student Recreation Center member. Proof of marriage is required. (updated 10/7/24).

Unenrolled Student (one semester off): Current non-enrolled student who was enrolled the previous semester at USA. Membership may be purchased at the front desk. Please Note: In order for any spouse/dependent memberships to remain valid, the student must purchase the semester off pass immediately following the end of their last semester.
Faculty/Staff/Retirees
Faculty/Staff: USA paid faculty and staff who work directly for the University or USA Health System. Includes retired faculty and staff.
Retirees: USA faculty and staff that have formally retired from the University or USA Health System.
Dependent: Anyone who has a parent-child relationship with a current Student Recreation Center member and is age 25 and under.
Plus One: Must be over the age of 18 and currently live with a Student Recreation Center member. Proof of shared address is required. Only one Plus One membership is allowed per household. This membership is only available to USA employees, alumni, retirees and affiliate members.

- Membership fees for current faculty/staff will be payroll deducted. Retirees must pay by credit card.
- All current USA faculty/staff members who are paying via credit card are required to switch to payroll deduction by February 1st, 2025.
- Faculty/Staff members whose recurring membership charges are declined before February 1, 2025 will be automatically moved to payroll deduction.
- If you are a paying member through payroll deduction or credit card billing and you enroll as a student, it is your responsibility to update your status using the Membership Change Form to discontinue billing. No other form of communication is accepted. The deduction will continue until the form is received and processed. No refunds will be issued.
Annual Alumni/Lifetime Alumni/Recent Graduates
Alumni: Anyone who is considered an alumnus by the University of South Alabama National Alumni Association (USANAA) is eligible for a SRC membership. Applicant must be a dues paying member of the USANAA. Alumni status (annual or lifetime alum) of applicant is verified with USANAA. Associate members are not eligible to join the Student Recreation Center. You will be asked to upload your membership card in our application.
Recent Graduate: Anyone who has graduated from USA and signs up for membership within 1 year of graduation date. Beginning October 1, 2024, all new Recent Graduate members must be active members of the USANAA.
Dependent: Anyone who has a parent-child relationship with a current Student Recreation Center member and is age 25 and under.

University Affiliate
University Affiliate: Affiliates are defined as those who are not employed by the university but contribute directly to student success and access. Currently, this membership is only offered to the employees of Aramark and JagTran.

Faculty/Staff memberships (all types) are paid through payroll deduction.
All other memberships must be paid by credit card. The credit card on file will be charged the monthly membership cost on the first of each month.
If you are a paying member through payroll deduction or credit card billing and you enroll as a student, it is your responsibility to contact Campus Recreation and Wellness membership services to discontinue the billing. Otherwise, the deduction will continue until Campus Recreation and Wellness is notified. No refunds will be issued.
When paying by credit card, the member will be notified of any declines via the email address provided on their membership agreement. Updates are to be made to the payment method before the 10th of the month or all memberships impacted will be terminated.

Please note the following for all members and guests:
Campus Recreation and Wellness reserves the right to suspend the use of facilities or involvement in programs of participants who refuse to follow policy, deem a threat to themselves or others, and/or treat staff in a disrespectful manner. Penalty, severity, and length of suspension will be determined on a case by case basis.
Campus Recreation and Wellness student staff also reserve the right to refuse entry and/or discontinued use of the facility and/or involvement in programs, if a member or guest becomes unruly or refuses to follow policy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Primary membership is available for:
- Currently enrolled University of South Alabama students.
- Currently employed University of South Alabama Faculty and Staff members,
- including USA Health.
- Retired University of South Alabama Faculty and Staff Members, including USA
- Health.
- Annual and Lifetime members of the USA National Alumni Association. This
- includes Recent Graduates, which have a different cost of membership.
Please note: secondary memberships are an option for all of the above. Additional
documentation is required for all.
- Spousal membership - All primary members are eligible to add a spouse to their
membership. - Plus One membership - All primary members but students are eligible to add an
additional adult to their membership. - Dependent membership - All primary members are eligible to add dependents
ages 0-25 to their membership starting at $8/month. Prices increase at age 16 and
are dependent on the type of membership the primary member holds.

- Dependent addition - Proof of guardianship
- Once submitted, use emailed instructions to add a credit card to your account. For eligible faculty staff, payroll deduction will be added to the first paycheck of each month.
- Eligible employees will be enrolled in payroll deduction for their membership. SRC Member Services will contact the member via email regarding any break in deductions.
- All other membership types must add a credit card on file. Instructions are sent to members upon sign-up.
When you first sign up, your payment may include:
- A prorated amount for the current month.
- The upcoming full month’s membership.

If your payment has declined, here’s what happens next:
- You will be contacted via email regarding the missing payment. At that time,
you’ll be asked to log-in to your membership account and update your credit card
information. You will be given a deadline to complete this. - If you miss the deadline, your account will be deactivated. To reactivate your
account:- Click here and fill out our change form. Select “Reinstatement of
Membership” and follow the instructions. - Follow the instructions sent to you via email. Processing for restarts
typically takes 2-4 business days.

- Currently enrolled student memberships are included with tuition, but you must contact
the SRC Members Services office to stop any existing paid membership. Billing will
continue until we are notified.
This can happen if:
- Payroll deduction is no longer active.
- Employment status has changed.
