Kickoff Event - Interactive Presentation and Free Lunch (while supplies last)
Thursday, September 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Student Center Amphitheatre (in case of rain, Student Center East Lobby)

Author John Green is known for weaving biography, history and science into an engrossing narrative, taking his readers on a journey demonstrating how the past connects to the future and how local actions impact humankind locally and globally.

At this event, Associate Professor of History Kelly Urban will introduce the book, connect it to her own research on tuberculosis and invite attendees to engage with some of the big questions the book raises about disease, technology and inequality. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. A lunch buffet of jerk chicken, green beans and macaroni & cheese will be served.
